My wife, Avika, and I (Abhi) started Sunshine Permaculture with a simple goal: to grow the most nutritious food possible.

Our bodies are made from the food we eat and the water we drink. Our mission is to cultivate food that provides all the essential nutrients a person needs to keep their bodies healthy and energized.

Every day at the farm, we strive to improve the nutritional value of our produce while nurturing the ecosystems around us and living in harmony with the microbes beneath our feet. Eating nutrient-dense food nourishes you, and we want to share that with as many people as we can.
In today's world, it can be challenging to know if you are eating real, wholesome food and to find a trusted source for you and your family. We experienced the same difficulties when we began our farming journey. With so many options and choices available, it can be overwhelming.

We founded Sunshine Permaculture to be transparent about what we offer. We live by the ethics of permaculture and are committed to doing what's best for our ecosystem. Our purpose is to grow nutrients for the people around us and those who support our work. This is our central mission: to promote healthy people and healthy ecosystems. We care for the earth, its people, and believe in a fair share for everyone in our community.

We come to work every day to improve the land, water, air, and lives of those around us. We believe that everyone should have access to clean water, air, and food for their families. That's what we want for you and your loved ones. Our goal is to grow food in a way that benefits the planet and all its inhabitants.
These are promises we make to you for all that we are:
1. We are fully organic. We will NOT use any chemical fertilizers/pesticides/etc. Everything is grown in soil.
We are commited to not using any chemical fertilizers or any synthetic chemicals in any way. We came into farming to produce very high quality food and we do not compromise our morals for anything. We are Non-GMO and use rarely use any hybrid seeds.

Most of our diets are our own food. We care a lot about what we eat & we would not give you and your family anything we would not eat ourselves.

We do not sell anything that we don't trust is fully chemical free. We do our best to avoid chemical residues from farms around us (we use many different methods for this).

We regularly test our soil through soil microsophy to see how healthy our soil biology is. This helps us understand if our practices are helping build soil organic matter & soil fungi over time. We value diversity in our soils and we are constantly measuring to learn how we are able to improve our process.

Our goal going into the future is to transition more farms to regenerative agriculture.
2. We produce food that is nutritious for you, your family & for the planet.
We will produce food that is high in nutrients for you & your family. We do our best to choose the best heirloom seeds, compost, and soil amendments that lead to the best food possible.

We select seed varieties that have high nutrient-density and are grown through organic methods by organic farms. We use climate resilient seeds that are suited and grown in a biome similar to ours. 

We make sure that we are building soil every year and we are building an ecosystem around our farm. We are commited to regenerative our soil and the land around us.

We are also commited to helping the communities around our farm to eat healthier and reduce chemical dependence over time.

We are what we eat. We would like to provide you the best so you and your family are able to have long lives full of energy and life.
3. Reducing as much waste as we can throughout the farming journey.

We try to reduce as much waste as we can. There are times we have to use plastic in our shipments, but we try to avoid and use second hand as much as we are able to do.

We will find ways to get plastic & foam boxes back to our farm from your house or recycle them. For customers not in the South of Thailand we use paper packaging, and customers on islands and Phuket we use second-hand foam boxes & plastic.

We are commited to finding solutions that reduce plastic waste or recycling that plastic waste.

More than 95% of our soil amendments come from within 5-10km of our farm. We are hoping to get as close to 100% of on-farm inputs as possible so we're able to sustain without any outside inputs.

4. We oversee all the growing methods & measure nutrients and soil health.
We oversee and understand all of the organic methods used from what we sell. The majority of our products are from our own farm, but we purchase from other certified organic farms in our area to give our customers a variety of fruits & vegetables.

We are not purchasing from other farmers that we don't know very well - and we make sure we know their farming practices really well. They align with our organic farming practices.

On our own farm we experiment a lot. All of the experiments use fully organic methods. We are happy to provide you with what additional amendments we are using on our farm. If we purchase any external inputs they are all 100% certified organic.

We've used scientific research to design our organic methods. We are certified by the Soil Food Web school to do lab microscopy to measure soil health on our land. We use many different organic methods to improve the health of our land & that increases the health of our food.

We do not utilize any -icides or inorganic fertilizers on our farm! Our farming practices promote soil building & ecosystem health. When you eat with us you can rest assured that your food is safe for your family and the environment.
